Army Ten-Miler - Finish Corral Coordinator
Position Overview
Beyond the Finish Line is the deceleration zone and the finish corral area where runners end the race. (The corral is located in Pentagon Parking lanes 35 - 36, as identified in the
ATM Stating Diagram
).
As the finish corral coordinator, you are responsible for monitoring the flow of runners, keeping them moving after they have crossed the finish line and are moving into the finish corral. You must work with the
Finish Line Coordinator
and with your team of
Finish Corral Volunteers
. Your team must keep runners moving into the Runner Finish Corral. You should ensure all personnel have a general knowledge of runners' peak arrival times. Work with your team to ensure the Finish Line area includes only authorized, credentialed personnel.
You and your team must watch for runners who need medical attention, and notify a medic if necessary. Be prepared to maintain a clear path in the curb lane form the Finish Line to the Medical Tent.
Time/Location Information:
As the Finish Corral Coordinator, you need to report to the Volunteer Check-in Tent in the South Pentagon Parking Lot Lane 21 at 6AM and report to the Finish Line NLT at 6:15 AM.

Provide volunteers with instructions regarding task
Volunteers will check-in at 6 AM and arrive by 6:15 AM to the area
.
You will instruct volunteers about the day ahead.
- Provide guidance on monitoring the flow of runners
- Identify typical peak arrival times for runners
- Ensure the finish line area includes only authorized, credentialed personel
- Provide information on identifying runners who need medical attention, and how to respond.
Balance resources
You will work with 30 finish corral volunteers. Ensure they work throughout the finish corral to keep runners moving.
Coordinate with ATM representative
You will be provided with a Land Mobile Radio (LMR) to support coordination at the time you check-in.
