Army Ten-Miler - Direction Volunteers (People Traffic)

Position Overview
Large coordinated activities such as the Army Ten-Miler require keeping people (often referred to as "traffic") moving. One way to manage traffic is to have volunteers available for providing direction. Direction volunteers may work several locations, depending on the needs at the moment.

Time/Location Information:

As a direction volunteer, you need to report to the Volunteer Check-in Tent in the South Pentagon Parking Lot Lane 21 at 6:00 A.M.


Task Overview

  • Provide information and direction to various points around the event staging area.
  • Provide information and direction to the Garment Check.
  • Provide information and direction to race Start Line from points around the staging area.
  • Provide assistance to the Finish Line personnel.
  • Monitor the runner traffic flow and prevent congestion
  • Provide information and direction along Army Navy Drive near Pentagon City Mall.
